The presence of key international and development agencies which include, but are not limited to; the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Children’s Educational Fund (UNICEF), United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), United Nations Organisation for Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), GIZ, Medicens Sans Frontiers (MSF), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Plan International, Fin Church Aid (FCA), etc. is evidence that the town of Yei is a fast growing, safe and secure polity. Plans to re-electrify the town of Yei are nearing completion while the Freedom Square has just been completed that can also host local football and other sports activities, cultural and potential functions.

The presence of secure yet affordable hotels in the heart of the town helps to accommodate both international and local staff, travelers and business people. Local transport service rendered by motorcycle also called Boda-boda is readily available, reliable and cheap. There are also rental cars such as land cruisers, nissan patrol, etc.

Most humanitarian and development projects (e.g. education, health, water and sanitation, food security and livelihood, etc.) in the County are supported technically and financially by European and American organizations. The number of international as well as local organizations is gradually increasing as the implementation of the Re-Vitalized Peace Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS) holds.
